The white wines of the 2023 vintage are now available. – We are grateful that it was another wine year without any nasty surprises. This year’s wines are a touch juicier and more powerful than their predecessors, but are extremely typical of the variety across the board. This year’s Grüner Veltliner has slightly grapey flavours that are also somewhat reminiscent of pome fruit.
In any case, it is always exciting to see how each year speaks its own language. – Enjoy the tasting!

While pruning is still underway outside in the vineyard, Wolfgang is busy pre-filtering the 2023 vintage in the cellar. The Kiselgur device is used for this.
During filtration, diatomaceous earth, which consists of fossilised diatom shells, is evenly dosed to remove and clarify the turbidity from the wine. 🍷 The wines are then allowed to continue maturing in the barrels until the first ones are transferred to the bottle at the beginning of March. ☀️

At the moment, pruning is still in full swing and this will be the start of the 2024 vintage. The old shoots are cut back and 1-2 fruiting canes are left. Nothing stands in the way of another good vintage.
