Wines with Identity
Resident to one of Austria’s most beautiful wine cellar streets, our wines mature in a hundred-year-old vaulted cellar as well as in a modern wine cellar, uniting tradition with up-to-date winemaking.
Wolfgang Engelbrecht constantly strives to refine his craft and his wines.
In harmony with the unique geological and climatic conditions of every single vineyard,
year after year he faces the renewed challenge of bringing out
the best in each vineyard site and its respective soils.
For generations, we have been working with and for Mother Nature – natural farming
is a non-negotiable for us, and year after year, we find that the vines
return the love that we give them. You can taste it 101%.
Adi Schmid – long-standing Sommelier at Vienna’s Steirereck restaurant – aptly describes our wines.
Stein, Wohra, Galgenberg, – Our Single Vineyards
The typical loess and clay terraces of the Kamptal region provide the ideal conditions for the classic but also powerful grape varieties Grüner Veltliner and Riesling, creating wines with unmistakeable typicity. White and red Burgundy varieties as well as Blauer Zweigelt also enjoy the climatic dynamic between the hot Pannonian Basin in the East and the cool Waldviertel region in the North-West. This touch of freshness can also be felt in our wines.
The interplay between the day-time heat and the cooler night-time temperatures lends the grapes great aromatic finesse and lively acidity.
95% of our vineyards are situated in the Kamptal region and 5% lie within the Wagram wine region
Eight Hands on Deck
We are closely connected to nature; we love its beauty and of course we love our Kamptal region. Here is where we have been harnessing the power and passion for our wines. For no less than nine generations!
For us, there is something much more important than aiming for ever larger yields at any price, and that is time. Time for the vineyards, for the grapes, for the family. We also place a lot of value on having fun and always finding joy in our occupation – and we believe that this should be felt and tasted in every sip.
